| In recent years there has been a tremendous increase in the numbers of prospective and successful athletes using the region and training camps have become numerous. Visitors are coming primarily to run at high altitude, but they also appreciate the temperate climatic conditions, the unpolluted air and the rural roads. More and more of these visitors are from outside Kenya. For many, however, the training camps are too simple and lacking in the basic facilities. This is where Kerio View has proved to be a valuable asset by providing the clean water, the hot showers, the hygienic conditions and the variety of food that most consider essential. Our main objective in Kerio View is to ensure our guests get the maximal benefits of their days and weeks of successful training by generally providing all their basic needs according to their individual programmes ---- so that they are free to concentrate on the main agendum, running ! KV also serves as a social meeting place for athletes, coaches and agents, both local and international, where ideas and information are exchanged and, maybe, a few deals negotiated. Despite our rural setting, the internet connection and the satellite TV ensure our visitors have a link to home and up-to-date news about what is happening in the world of sports. |
| The small town of Iten is the administrative headquarters of Keiyo District. It is situated in the heart of the central Rift Valley of Kenya where most of the Kenyan athletes have their origins and where they do most of their training. There is no doubt that it is the performances of these athletes, which, above all else, has brought this region to the attention of the world. For more information about this: Click |
